Dear family, friends, special invited guest and press associates.
On Saturday January 8th 2011 Disco Legend Bobby Farrell will be honored in the Stad Schouwburg in Amsterdam. This special "Farewell" memorial will host a full length musical concert with special guests, family, and close friends whom will all share their love for Bobby Farrell and honor his legacy.
In Daddy Cool style Bobby has requested everyone to not wear black at his goodbye;
"please come in colorful class and style, I'm Daddy Cool"!!
The doors of the Schouwburg will open at 11:15 and the ceremony will start at 12:00.
This public event offers all his fans to come and say a last goodbye, therefore note that seating in the theatre will be limited.
After the ceremony Bobby Farrell will be escorted to Zorgvlied cemetery where he will be received by a musical band before his body is laid to rest in a private burial.
As we invite you to the Bobby Farrell "Farewell" memorial the Farrell family is proud to share Bobby with the rest of the world on this day, however does request everyone to offer some privacy and space during all the happenings.
In memoriam Bobby Farrell
When we think of Disco, we think of Boney M and of Bobby Farrell. Anyone who ever danced to Disco and Pop has surely danced to one or more of Boney M's many hits.
We all remember Boney M's Disco music, a mix of European, Caribbean, African-american and Eastern influences, with their wonderful costumes and Bobby's flamboyant outfits, and his wild and extravagant dance moves.
Some of us believe that nothing ever dies and its true that some of us never die, at least through our work, our energy and our legacy. Each time we will dance to and sing one of Boney M's songs we will feel a part of Bobby is still with us. There is no Boney M without Bobby Farrell.
It is with extreme sadness and compassion that we communicate Bobby's departure from us on December 30, 2010.
Family, friends, and fans worldwide will all miss Bobby but we will remember him forever.
